  • Your Day Trip from Istanbul to Ephesus begins with a pick-up from your Istanbul hotel, where your driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Izmir.
  • Upon arrival in Izmir, you’ll meet your private guide and enjoy a 45-minute drive to the ancient city of Ephesus.
  • First, you’ll spend about 2 hours in Ephesus, Turkey’s largest open-air museum and one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Eastern Mediterranean. Walk in the footsteps of Cleopatra, Mark Antony, Virgin Mary, and the Apostle John as you enjoy the stunning ruins. Your guide will provide insights into life in ancient Rome.
  • Next, we’ll visit the House of the Virgin Mary, where Christian tradition says Mary spent her final days after being brought to Ephesus by Apostle John.
  • After a delicious lunch, we’ll head to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You’ll have the chance to see ruins of this once-magnificent structure.
  • Depending on your interests and available time, we can also visit additional sites such as the Basilica of St. John, the Ephesus Archaeological Museum, or the Terrace Houses. Please note that entrance fees to these sites are not included in the tour price, but your guide will assist with purchasing tickets.
  • If you’re interested in local crafts, you can opt for a visit to a carpet weaving center, leather outlet, or ceramic workshops. Shopping is completely optional, of course.
