    Normally, we enter Ephesus from the upper gate and exit from the lower gate. However, for guests with walking difficulties, we can adapt the route by entering and exiting through the flatter lower gate, walking straight to the Celsus Library and back.
  • Are the Terrace Houses worth visiting?
    Definitely. They are exceptionally well-preserved Roman-era homes belonging to the wealthy elites of Ephesus. Please note that the standard Ephesus ticket does not cover this section, and it requires a separate entrance fee. Because there are many steps inside, we do not recommend visiting the Terrace Houses for guests who have difficulty climbing stairs.
  • Are there any important insider tips I should know before visiting Ephesus?
    • Watch Your Step: Walk carefully as the ancient marble streets can be very slippery, and minor slips happen every year.
    • Beat the Crowds: If you are staying at a regional hotel, we can time your visit to avoid the massive influx of cruise ship crowds.
    • The House of the Virgin Mary: Queues can sometimes be very long here. If it is a busy day, we prefer to visit Ephesus first and head to the House of the Virgin Mary in the afternoon, avoiding the standard morning rush of big bus tours.
